Muse Group is seeking a highly motivated Junior Attorney to join our legal team, supporting our global operations. This role provides the unique opportunity to work across multiple jurisdictions and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of corporate law while contributing to our mission of growth and innovation. The ideal candidate will assist in providing legal counsel, ensuring compliance, and managing legal matters aligned with our business strategies and risk tolerance. You will play a critical role in supporting our legal needs while collaborating closely with our senior legal team and stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research on diverse matters, including statutes, case law, and regulations, to prepare concise and accurate reports for senior legal team review.
- Document Preparation & Review: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and filing a variety of legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and compliance materials.
- Project & Document Management: Organize and maintain project files, ensuring thorough document control, tracking deadlines, and managing critical dates.
- Legal Entity Formation and Maintenance: Form and maintain legal entities, drafting and filing formation documents, tracking compliance deadlines, and managing ongoing upkeep.
- Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Act as a point of contact between clients, internal teams, and attorneys. Schedule appointments, answer client inquiries, and provide regular updates on project status.
- Trademark Filings & Procedures: Handle e-filing processes with the USPTO, respond to Office Actions, ensuring adherence to TTAB regulations, and assist in preparing necessary supporting documentation.
- Data Privacy: Keep current on relevant laws and regulations relating to data privacy, marketing and advertising.
- Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure all legal documentation meets compliance standards and maintain accurate records of all legal matters.
Required experience:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in a relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience working as an attorney or legal assistant, preferably in corporate law, intellectual property, or entertainment law.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and legal case management software. Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders. Strong client-facing skills and a professional demeanor.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an aptitude for accuracy and thoroughness in managing large volumes of documents and sensitive legal materials.
- Time Management: Effective multitasking capabilities, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ethics & Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and confidentiality when handling sensitive legal and business information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or strong interest in the music industry, intellectual property law, or technology sectors.
- Background in corporate compliance, contract negotiation, or music licensing.
