We are looking for an experienced Product Designer with an advanced understanding of music notation.
As a Product Designer, you will contribute to the UX/UI of MuseScore, the world’s most popular music notation software.

An ideal candidate will have experience as a Product Designer (or UX/UI Designer) for a widely distributed desktop software application.

In addition to the design experience and skills, the ideal candidate will also possess a strong familiarity with music notation software, as well as a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of music composition and the requirements of performers and composers of all levels.

Role & Responsibilities

You Will:
  • Contribute to the UX/UI design of the MuseScore desktop appDesign product features within the context of the company’s overall business strategies and goals
  • Conduct necessary user research, and participate in community discussions
  • Translate high-level product and technology strategies into clear UX/UI concepts aligned with a product engineering roadmap and key deliverables
  • Design according to an iterative process in a continuous deployment model
  • Contribute to quality assurance through routine build testing and participation in issue logging and maintenance

You Know:
  • Fundamental principles of music composition
  • How to play a musical instrument
  • How to read music notation

You Have:
  • Significant experience designing product UX/UI
  • Significant experience as a musician working within the tradition of notated music
  • Experience in designing consumer-facing products on a substantial scale
  • Experience in shipping always-connected, continuously-deployed consumer software
  • Knowledge of the music and audio technology industry, including the latest trends and competitive landscape
